Dimitrinka Hristova ( Jim)
I have known Nikolai for twenty five years.
We used to call him “Mom” in high-school, but not just because, at 6’3’’, we seemed like children standing next to him.
He was one of those friends, who you thought would always be there.
Well, the years put some distance between us- military service, college, career and raising families.
In the last few years, however, we have talked and seen more of each other.
He is the kind of guy you can call anytime just to share your pain or success with, or to hear his joys and troubles.
That’s why I love you, “Mom”!
I don’t want this to sound like an epitaph! He has so much more left to give to his family, his son, and all of his friends.
Unfortunately, sometimes you can put a price of living and it is too high for one man to pay.
That’s why I beg everyone who can help to please do so.
Don’t think that just because you can donate little, its not going to be enough!
I believe that together we can give Nikolai a second chance at life.
Thank you all for helping me keep my friend!

My name is Yanita.
I went to high school with Nikolai in Bourgas. No, not just that, we have been real friends for more than 20 years now!
True, we haven’t been right next to each other all these years, but to lose contact with a friend does not mean to lose your friendship.
During our school years we learned to love, respect and value the people around us.
We were a tightly knit group and took care of each other.
“Mayo”, that’s what we called him back then, was a tough one. He didn’t complain, whine, or liked to reveal his grief.
But now he needs not just compassion but your help as well!
They say that friends are like a raft on the waves of the ocean. Let us be the life-saving raft for “Mayo”!
I have suffered the loss of people close to me. I have gone through that state of helplessness,
when things go out of control and everything seems to slip away, and you can only watch in pain and do nothing.
But not now! Now we can help!
Please don’t let me watch helplessly this time! Help me save my friend!
Thank you for everything you do!

From Chefa
A friend in need!...
Can we prove to each other that friendship is not obsolete or a prerogative of the 16-year old ones?
Can we see life through his eyes?
Can we sense the strength his appeal to us requires from him?
Can we re-evaluate the priorities in our busy lives?
Can we demonstrate compassion in the most active way we can think of?
Can we look him in the eyes so that he would read in ours: “We are with you”?
Can we at least try?

My name is Penka
And I went to high school with Nikolai. We spent four years in the same class and I have only fond memories of him.
We weren’t really close but, when he got in touch with me last year, I wanted to do everything I could to help him.
To help him, so he would smile again and get back the sparkle in his eyes.
So he would joke and look on the bright side of things again.
Everyone who knows him must help, because every human being deserves to live life with dignity.
No matter how little money you can spare, it will make a difference.
Thank you in advance, and I welcome those who will contribute and bring friends and relatives into this campaign.
The more of us put an effort into it, the faster we will reach our goal.
And the goal is- let’s give “Mayo” a second chance!
